India Won Semi Final India vs New Zealand Cricket World Cup 2023

India won the toss and elected to bat in the Cricket World Cup semi-final, making a new record with their first-innings score of 397/4 in 50 overs. This total stands as the highest ever in a men’s Cricket World Cup semi-final, with the player himself achieving the milestone of being the highest run-scorer in a single ICC Cricket World Cup, surpassing Tendulkar’s previous record.

Kohli, recognizing the significance of his achievement, revealed that Tendulkar was among the first to extend his wishes after the remarkable first innings. Speaking on the field during the innings break at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Kohli, who had just become the first player in the history of the game to score 50 One Day International centuries, surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who observed the feat from the stands.

“The great man just congratulated me, all this to me feels like a dream honestly. It’s too good to be true, it feels surreal,” Kohli said.

Upon reaching a century, Kohli paid tribute to the crowd’s, directing his gestures first towards his wife, Anushka Sharma, and then towards Tendulkar.

In a thrilling semi-final clash between India and New Zealand in the 2023 Cricket World Cup, India emerged victorious, securing their spot in the final. The match showcased a formidable performance from both teams, with notable highlights in the second innings.

New Zealand, displaying resilience and determination, mounted a spirited fightback in their pursuit of the massive target set by India, 398 runs in 50 overs. Despite their commendable efforts, the Kiwis fell short of the challenging total, emphasizing the formidable bowling and fielding prowess of the Indian side.
