Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

1 pound (about 4 cups) fresh cranberries

1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed for better flavor)

Zest of one orange (optional)

1 cinnamon stick (optional)

1/4 Teaspoon ground cloves (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare Cranberries– Rinse the ranberries under cold water, Remove any stems or debris.

Mixed Ingredients- In a medium saucepan , Combine Cranberries ,sugar, orange juice, Orange Zest (Optional),Cinnamon Stick, and ground cloves.(Optional)

Simmer – the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer, stirring sometime.

Cook until Berries Burst- The cranberries will start to burst and release their juices. Simmer for about 10-15 minute until the mixture thickens. Crush some of the cranberries with a chunky texture, or use an immersion blender for a smoother consistency.

Adjust Sweetness- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar, a little at a time.

Cool and Serve- Remove from heat, extract the cinnamon-stick, and let the sauce cool down to room temp. As it cools down it will continue to thicken. Transfer to airtight Container and refrigerate until ready to serve.

This homemade Cranberry Sauce is a delightful addition to your table. It can be made a day or two in advance, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully. Enjoy it as a complement to turkey, ham, or even as a spread on sandwiches
